Guerilla Girls

Curriculum

The task of this project was to develop a curriculum centered on an underrepresented topic within contemporary communication design. Focusing on content for learning objectives, developing a course outline as well as building a course, with each learning objective being met with assessment strategies, exercises, content, subject matter analysis, and interactive activities.

The topic of my choosing was based on the fact women's suffrage in the workforce has been and still is a struggle to be seen as equals or taken seriously, especially in the art realm, being told since the beginning of time women can't make art. To excite viewers and advocate for a women's activist group that took a stance for us, the Guerilla Girls. Ironically, they represent themselves with guerrilla masks, demonstrating how men have represented women in art for centuries. Creating marches and rallies with their iconic large typography and use of bright colors or yellow and orange shown in my curriculum.
